The amount of revisionism that gets applied to Miles’ time at LSU is staggering. LSU was one of the 5-6 truly elite programs for a decade before a slight slide.
If you listened to the dipshits on this board you’d think LSU was just a mediocre program run by a doofus who lucked into 100+ wins.

Les miles entire offensive philosophy changed after Jarrett Lee threw 10000 interceptions that year. What was it, 2009 or 2010 I forget. He went from putting everything out the multiple receiver fronts plenty of option and play action, plays out of shotgun to run, run, play action for a sack... Les Miles was a very good coach, he just kept meddling with the offense way too much.

It truly is. I remember a time when a large group of posters claimed year after year that anyone could win 10 games a year at LSU.

Without a doubt.

Les Miles tenure at lsu
one of the most accomplished tenures in sec history
-most weeks in the top 25
-as many top 5 finishes as saban, mac, and dietzel combined
- as many top 10 finishes as the previous 40 seasons of lsu football combined
-the 1st coach in 4 decades to win a sec title with a team consisting of 100% his players
-no program beat more teams that finished the season ranked
-best win % in lsu history
- best ooc regular season win % in sec history(minimum 50 games)
- best home win % in lsu history
- best ooc win% in lsu history
-best ooc regular season win% in lsu history
- most top 25 finishes in lsu history
- most top 20 finishes in lsu history
- most top 15 finishes in lsu history
- most top 10 finishes in lsu history
- most top 5 finishes in lsu history
you dont luck into those accomplishments.
could a better x and o coach achieved more with the talent miles had? I BELIEVE SO but there is no guarantee that that talent is at lsu without Miles' recruiting.
there are very few elite recruiters that are also elite x and O coaches. that's what makes them the best coaches in cfb.
