I know the climate would be much more to my liking. I spend a ton of time outdoors when we travel to Colorado during the summer. Not so much in a Louisiana summer. I'm a sucker for the mountains too.
Only concerns are cost of living and distance from family. Well that and earthquakes.

Not many big Quakes in SE. Cost of living, mainly housing, is pretty high.
The big downer is the cloudy weather, but that seems to be shifting somewhat dramatically in the past few years.
