Some parts of this country call COW Farina. And it does depend on the cook.
My husband loved the oatmeal his Grandmother made and loathed his Mother's. Then we experimented and found that some raisins in the bottom, sugar and butter added at the end of the microwave came really close to his Grandmother's effort.
It helps that our current microwave has breakfast settings and the first is Oatmeal. I wonder if COW would work on that setting as well?

Farina is the product. COW is a brand.
If They are calling generic farina COW then marketing has done its job.
That’s akin to saying you Xeroxed, played ping pong, or went wind surfing.
