Ya I'm looking forward to it. Should be going in November with the leaves changing.
Already done way too much googling and reading the various Japan threads on this board. Kinda bummed sumo is in Fukuoka but only a small part of everything to see/do.
Trying to squeeze a scenic onsen into the schedule to make up for it.

Teddy, I lived in the general Fukuoka area for two years. Kyushu rocks. Great people. Fukuoka is an impressive place, probably Japan’s most underrated city imho. Head To Oita Prefecture and go to the Beppu onsens. There is a ridiculously perfect onsen city I used to go to called Yufuin. It’s amazing. The whole area is on fire from Aso San ( biggest caldera in the world) so there are onsens everywhere.
