complete bull shite. It’s about use. All new freshmen coming in just need to throw that summer after high school and NOT IN THE FALL OUTSIDE OF STAYING CONDITIONED. Not overusing his arm.
Wrong. The travel ball coaches need to stop using these kids to throw so much just for their own benefit of winning. These guys have futures and more important things than winning the Perfect Game World Series

I have umpired travel ball for several years. USSSA has a rule that says something like a kid can pitch 3 complete innings on Saturday and then another 3 complete innings on Sunday. That might not sound bad, but some of these innings are between 20-30 pitches. Let’s take the middle and say 25 pitches per inning times 3 innings times twice per weekend times 10 weekends per travel ball season times 5 years of playing travel ball between the ages of 9 and 13.....that equals 7,500 pitches just in travel ball, not counting pitches at practice or warm ups or lessons or at home, and haven’t even counted high school for 4 years. Kids’ arms at that age CAN NOT handle that much pitching.
