The current medical field is on the fence of whether or not laser is proven to be an effective treatment (It obviously is). Insurance company's today still do not cover laser therapy as a therapeutic way to relieve muscle, ligamentus and joint pain. I am unsure of this medical doctors perspective on this matter but that could be a reason why he did not receive laser treatment. Hopefully in the coming year laser will be used as a standard of care prior to other more invasive therapies such as steroid shots, etc.
