You can live in the past if you want, but currently LSU is trending in the wrong direction. The CWS results of the last decade haven’t been great, but I can live with a top 8 finish. The question is how long do you allow the CURRENT trend to continue before a change is needed? So yes, next year is very meaningful. Coaches should be given a year or two, to rebuild when needed, but three years of underachievement is concerning if next year goes bad! It’s Especially concerning with the fixable mistakes being repeatedly made by the players AND the coaches in big games.

which has been my point for years. 2017 was great but, it masked the trend. after that season, i was most curious about this season. i knew 2018 was going to be a transition but this season should have made up for last season. it didn't.

optimists are saying next year looks great but, lsu started #1 THIS season because of what all pm returned. why is next year going to be different? besides, several programs are proving that you don't have to return gigantic production to make the cws.
