I am engineer with about 20 years in the semiconductor industry.

Then stop fighting and GTFO. The south is what it is and conservatives are who they are despite your whiney arse.
We have been doing things right for a long time and I have yet to see any mass migrations to the north, east, West or south. We are successful industrial, hard working people. Sorry, not sorry.
