The evening news said he went home to be with family and then "died on his own terms" which usually means he chose the time and place of his death.
We should all be lucky enough to have the right to do so....

We lost a great patriot and witty man with entertaining humor.
He will be missed. I also grew up on these guys.
Producer Ken had a big heart standing in for John Walton, but he's not the man for the job full time, we know it and he knows it.
Let's hope they find the right guy to follow John Walton helping Johnson enlighten and humor us all in the mornings.
