The elements you see that are similar have all been in BMW's design language since at least the Chris Bangle era, many of them from far before.
The Stinger was designed in part by a designer poached from BMW's M division.

I was just cracking on the kidney grill, BMW is convinced for some reason it needs to make them larger with every refresh/new gen.
