I would say Avery Island but it gets so hot during summer months, plus mosquitos, it's a lot better during spring or fall.

Same with Rural Life Museum but they do have some indoor stuff you can see.

Some of the state parks are really nice this time of year as well, like Chicot State Park or Lake Fausse Pointe or Fontainbleau State Park are all neat to see and they have some water activities as well.

The 7 year old wants to go fishing. We don’t have a boat, only a couple of kayaks.

Have never been to Grand Isle, so we do need to go there to try it out.

What are the best state parks for bank fishing? For salt/brackish, we have fished the pier at Fontainebleau and walked along lake front there, but water was extremely shallow and wind was crazy when we went.
