Established companies in regulated industries like banking, utilities, telecomm, are not interested in a free market. The last thing they want is competition. They’d rather have a Democrat-controlled government in power because the Dems are open to imposing regulations and these corporations know that they can pay lobbyists to get favorable regulations passed.

Restricting competition via regulations is a lot easier than competing in a free market for these companies.
