something I kept hearing about AEW as I took in the news of the TV deal...

AEW is apparently going to a "competition based" system that will involve statistics and analytics for a "league"... instead of "storyline based" like WWE

I'm interested to see what that means... is AEW going to start a real "fantasy wrestling league" (like fantasy football/basketball/baseball)

this sounds more like NJPW product than what we as American wrestling fans are used to

Ehh this could either go very well or horrible.

It'll make the wrestlers work harder and in theory drive viewership up if they do it right. But WWE already does this by analyzing rating changes per segment. I'm not sure how AEW's version will be much different.

This is so dumb. It's a staged fight, its not real, so there is no point to this

People watch wrestling for the drama and storylines. Yes seeing two wrestlers do cool things in the ring is fun but this is why I dont watch the PPV pre-shows with a pre show panel of talking heads talking about who is going to win and such. It's a staged fight! Stats and analytics shouldnt matter
