Where were they when LSU played them. Where were their defenses ranked at the end of the year? What was LSU'S strength of schedule?

I'm not going to play down the Auburn win. Winning at Jordan-Hare is always a task, even if Auburn isn't that great.

The Miami win was just not all that impressive, with the benefit of hindsight. I'm of course glad we took care of business but that was a mediocre to bad team that was horribly overrated.

Their defense wasn't bad and they finished with a winning record. LSU'S strength of schedule was still very high.

I think some teams don't recover well from early losses. Had they beaten us their season could've played out completely differently.

FSU in 2017 was top 5 and got killed by bama and lost their QB...they struggled to go 6-6. I have to think had they not played bama they would've had a better year.
