There aren't many countries that have borders on both the Pacific and the Atlantic ocean separating them from all enemies by thousands of miles while still allowing free movement of materiel around the planet.

Our geography goes a long way toward enabling the things we did and still do. Raw materials and industrial might don't mean a whole lot to allies on the other side of the planet if you can't get over there easily.

EDIT: RELATIVELY free movement would probably be a better term. Enemies can still try to sink tonnage, but our huge coastline and multiple ports means that we are able to spread out shipments so much and at such a high rate that we really can't be effectively blockaded.

I agree, we are in the literal perfect location. Two big arse moats on each side of us.

But the fact that we were able to have so much industrial output that we were able to send supplies to across both oceans and split our forces and still win is pretty damn incredible.
