Ted Lieu represents CA-33, one of the most affluent districts in the US - it's Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, etc. They elected Henry Waxman for 40 years, so Lieu can say or do whatever he wants with absolutely zero electoral consequences. He represents the fringe of the fringe, but because he's in the right district and a total media whore, he's on television almost nonstop.
