Patriots Draft Trade

Patriots traded a 5th rounder (#162) and a 2020 4th rounder for #87 overall and took Chase Winovich (OLB) from Michigan...
How tf does the NFL allow the Pats to pull off moves like this.
The Saints need to follow suit and make a few trades like this to move up into the 3rd and 4th round this year. I love that we took Erik McCoy, but I hate that we had to give up a 2020 second rounder to do so. I also would have rather taken AJ Brown with that pick, but whatever...
I LOVE what the Seahawks are doing in this draft--> trading down and gathering a TON of picks.

We don’t need a ton of picks that aren’t going to play or get cut. This team doesn’t have a lot of holes. Strategic quality picks are much more important at this stage
But otherwise I agree, that patriots trade is crazy. They seem to have a draft cheat code.

You need picks to trade picks and the Saints do seem to overpay.

Man.... you don't have that right at all
I swear some you idiots don't understand the draft at all

I agree with you there, but I think the right second and third round players could make this team. We needed OL depth pretty badly IMO, but we also need another WR, and could really use some depth at DLine, S, and linebacker.

They traded #73 and received No. 87, No. 162, 2020 4th

So you want to trade up like the Pats but also trade back to collect picks like the Seahawks?

NFL website says otherwise

Well, yes, but at the right spots. In hindsight, I would have liked to trade back at #62. If not? I would have liked to use lower picks, or second round or lower future picks to trade and grab a few 3rd or 4th rounders this year. Either way, i was not a fan of trading up in this draft by giving up an additional 2nd. We are going to be in a terrible cap situation in the coming years, and need to have an influx of cheap, young talent.

their version makes a lot more sense
You may be right, although I figured the NFL would have the correct information
