Nope. Median square footage was over 1,500 by 1975.
That’s the problem. Back then young first time homeowners didn’t think they could start off with a “median” sized home. Instead they took what they could afford which was usually a two bedroom one bath house no more than 1,000 sq. Ft. They knew you had to start at the bottom and (Trigger warning: scary word to follow) WORK your way up.

So? Boomers paid for college with part time jobs. Millenials could not.
Explain?
My 3 children are millennials. They all 3 worked their way through college. And not just summer time internships. Maybe you felt the job and/or pay was below you or not appropriate for someone getting a degree in your major, but the opportunities were and for that matter do still exist for those who aren’t afraid to work.
