re: PM “they’re getting opportunities, it’s time for them to take advantage of it”

It's got to be maddening to be a baseball coach. It's such a fickle and finesse sport. CPM has made mistakes, but there is just something intangible about baseball that determines whether you're hot or not. It's an entirely different beast than football and basketball where you just out-muscle your opponent.
Whatever the issue is, they gotta get it figured out or it'll be curtain call for this team soon enough.

The coaches deserve some of the blame but some of it is on the players as well. They aren’t taking advantage of opportunities. They also don’t battle at the plate like other LSU teams have. If they get two strikes they are out. Previous LSU teams under CPM rarely struck out and they battled and made the pitcher work from pitch one.
Duplantis has become a pull hitter and fly ball machine. I believe this is on Duplantis and the coaches. I find it hard to believe that the coaches would tinker much with him considering how great his career has been the last three years. Now it is the coaches responsibility to break him if any bad habits that he has formed or if they did change his swing they need to realize that’s not what they need and fix it back. I firmly believe that Duplantis was told after the draft last year he fell because he didn’t hit enough home runs so he changed his swing. He has hit more home runs but it has killed his average and took away from what made him great. I don’t recall a single hit through the left side the infield that probably 70 percent of his hits came from the last three years.
