Open beta available on Ubisoft this weekend. city builder RTS.
If you want the game on steam you will need to pre order. After the game releases on Tuesday Steam will no longer sell it, but all pre purchases will be honored.

I really enjoyed it. You get to play the entire first chapter. It looks good and it's pretty in depth. You really have to pay attention to your workers and every aspect of your economy to keep things running smoothly.
The antagonist reminds me of a modern day progressive ( accusing guilt on his opponents and asking them to prove their innocence) so I will be happy to beat his arse eventually.
apparently you can do first person in this game with CTRL+SHIFT+R which is completely new for me in RTS like this.
here's a twitter story of one lads experience with riots in his city.

No, the dev/publisher has chosen to sell the game on Epic instead of Steam. Though you can buy direct from Ubisoft as well which I would do if you're not going to order on Steam. Screw Epic
I played the beta too and it was alot of fun. Never played any of the previous Anno games. Got too many games to play already. I may grab this down the line when it's on sale.
Though I hate that developers are pulling games from Steam. If this keep up at some point Valve will have to reduce their fees if they are going to remain viable long term.

Look at my post history, I'm well aware of Epic and what they do.

I ordered on UBI. it offered me a 20% discount code for 100 points but wouldnt apply at checkout. prob because it's a new release but still odd it popped up with the offer right as i clicked purchase. debating contacting support about it.
I went ahead and got deluxe, i figure i can get 100 hours out of this easily, whats an extra $10.

I played way too much of this over the last two days. Most addicted I've been to a game in a long time.

I played the shite out of Anno 1602 so this intrigues me. It sounds like it's similar to the original..

Great game. Preordered it a month or so ago after i came across Raptor on youtube playing it. He has great videos on this game. Started playing last night and today and just reached the artisan age. Did a search and found this supply chain chart that shows you how much you need for each farm etc. Definitely take a look.

Highly addictive game but im lagging behind the AIs way too much. Ive won most of the naval skirmishes but they are just way too good on trade and have built societies far beyond mine. Took me forever to get to engineer mode and they have been in investor mode for quite a while now. I am learning a lot though so whenever i start again from the beginning i should do a lot better. The thing is ive already invested many many many many hours into this one run so i want to see it through.
