It was legal because both Bonnie and Clyde stated publicly that they were going to fight to the death every time they were going to be pursued by police. Those men that liquidated them knew there was no way B and C were going to hold up their hands and surrender. It was suicide by cop technically. I’ve put a lot of thought into suicide by cop and Bonnie and Clyde were not going to be arrested. It was fight to the death and the cops fired first. If you think Bonnie or Clyde would have surrendered peacefully, you didn’t understand them at all.
