There are several issues with this practice:
1. The margin of error for both radar devices and speedometers is around 5mph. This means you can be going a little faster than the speed limit while your car is telling you you're good. That's why human police rarely enforce speed limits unless the speeder is going more than 5mph over the limit.
2. These cameras are often enforcing school zone speed limits when the school zones aren't actually in effect, such as on weekends and during holidays.
New Orleans city government needs to have their feet held to the fire for these practices.
