We can’t use numbers to define it!

Sure you name things with 5 parts, like a basketball team with 5 players or a hand with 5 fingers. But that’s an example of using 5 to describe something, not a definition for 5. “Blue” is not the sky, it’s a quality of the sky.

No, that's defining five as a quantity and a specific quantity equal to the number of fingers on a typical hand or number of members on a basketball team.
