How early is too early for the Buffalo? Would the 2nd week of March be too early for a canoe trip? I know it may be chilly, but in a canoe pants and a jacket are doable and camping is fine. I mean mostly for river levels and fishing?
Also OP, I’d consider adding a day for weather. Plan an extra day to bum around the cabin and do some light fishing or do nothing in case it rains. If you have the time anyway.

The water wont be much colder in March than summer. The smallmouth and trout will bite. I'd be more concerned with rainfall and sudden rise
