If your in Huntsville. The Buffalo River near Waynesboro TN is close by (100 miles) and has OK canoeing and camping/cabins. Your boy may see some tits if he hangs out long enough at the sand bar by the cliff jump
ETA: It's not the kinda place you want to stay 3-4 nights. 1 or 2 nights would be plenty.
