In the kitchen. Hear the microwave going while I’m doing other things. Microwave keeps going. I look and see it still has over a minute left.

Me: Babe is that pasta in the microwave?

Him: Yeah why?

Me: It only needs like 45 seconds...

I reach for the microwave door.

Him: Stop! I know how long it needs! I’ve used a microwave before!

I don’t say anything and leave the kitchen. 10 seconds later I hear him open the microwave. I go back in the kitchen and he proceeds to stoicly eat the obviously scalding hot pasta so as to not admit I was right.

Fast forward two weeks. We are in an argument. Who knows what the argument is about at this point. Out of nowhere...

Him: You always try to control things! Like in the kitchen the other day, you couldn’t just let me make MY food!

Me: Uh huh...
