I tell you what, the older I get the more baffling "racial pride" is to me.

I understand it in context of not being ashamed to be X and I think that's a good thing.

But taking it to the point of "my race invented this or that, what has your race done" just seems insecure to me.

A race didn't invent water purification or math or toilet paper or internal combustion or agriculture or 1,000 uses for peanuts or whatever. Individuals did it. I don't care what "race" the individuals were, I'm just glad somebody figured out how to get us to where we are because I sure as hell ain't clever enough to have invented any of that shite.
