Pence's stance is absolutely outrageous, but that's because it shouldn't be needed. It's only needed because people like Harris have supporters that make false accusations about men. And people like Harris have supporters that will have no issue destroying a man's reputation even if the accusation is 100 percent fake.

Every time a woman makes a fake accusation, it sets the "women's movement" back more and more.

I have no doubt stances like the one Pence has, absolutely impairs career-oriented women. And it sucks. But rather than be mad at Pence, they need to be mad at the women whose false accusations - and the media mob that runs with them - that makes these protections necessary.

By the way, I've dined with women alone on work trips and for work meetings and will continue to do so, because it's pretty hard to avoid it. However, it's always in public, never in a hotel restaurant, etc.
