HC and NP did more damage than Jar Jar or the kid, IMHO.

The real fault remains Lucas', though. We've all seen Liam Neeson, Portman, etc., act extremely well in other films.

In these? Only really McGregor is even remotely good.

That's total directing...you have to instruct the actors to act wooden and dispassionate. I still to this day have no idea what Lucas was aiming for and why he thought it was a good idea.

The fireworks between Leia and Han is what makes Empire the best in the series. (The one movie Lucas had the least input.)

But no, Lucas thought, in the future everyone will be emotionless and robotic-like spouting off shitty dialogue like an automaton.

In the prequels I just wanted Sam Jackson to just once scream in a council meeting..."yes they deserve to die! And I hope they burn in hell motherfricker!"

100%. Critics of III and V say the his style is wooden.
Too bad about Jar-Jar, Lucas could have saved the first episodes and VII and VIII if the fan theories/fiction that said Jar-Jar was actually Palapitine's Mentor, and the goofiness was an act, were true. Snoke should have been angry evil Jar Jar.
