NCAA this summer: So when these allegations were made public and gained national attention on March x, you met with Wade and concluded he was fit to continue coaching?

uh, it was a media report with evidence not available to make a decision

if we're fricked, what does suspending Wade do for LSU? nothing

NCAA this summer: lack of institutional control, multi-year post season ban, loss of scholarships, vacated wins, show cause for Wade and ohh I think we'll be sending some NCAA reps down to campus to investigate the rest of your athletic programs.

going to happen regardless

It stops potential blow-back on the rest of the athletic department and university. If you think it doesn't, then you are a fool. Thumbing your nose at the national media and NCAA when your coach is caught red-handed like Wade has.. will not work out.

You can bring up UNC, but that was a total different situation, where they had a leg to stand on in court. It is also their premiere program, so they would do whatever it takes to protect it.

LSU football & baseball are priority #1 for LSU AD, they are going to do whatever it takes to mitigate risk towards those programs.

You people need to come back to reality.

What you don't seem to understand is the legal positions the University (not just its Athletic Director) and Coach Wade are in. The news report and the wiretap transcript raise legitimate suspicions (not convictions) of illegal conduct. The Administration and Board of Supervisors asked Wade to give them his side of it. Had he done so. credibly, they might well have kept him active pending the outcome. But, based on (very sound)advice from his legal counsel, Wade couldn't do that. So to protect itself, the University had no legitimate option but to suspend him.

Lol anyone that thinks this is drunk or just hates LSU. He’s been here barely two years. Does that ever happen in such a short time span?
