But you are overlooking the prerequisite that there actually BE an "emergency." Trump has even admitted that there is NOT an "emergency."
There is an emergency. Several 100k people are illegally crossing our southern border every year.

The cost to Taxpayers to support illegal immigration is over 100 billion a year.

Hell you dems could almost pay for your Bernie Sanders free college for all Americans if we deported illegal immigrants and stopped them from coming.
You people are just so damned predictable. I have never voted for a Dem in a national election since Phil Gramm switched parties in 1983. And I think Bernie's platform is the height of idiocy.

Both border security and illegal immigration are "issues" ... even "important issues." Being an "important issue" is not synonymous with being an "emergency." Congress has been jacking with both issues for many, many years, and illegal immigration is actually DOWN.

Building Trump's big, beautiful concrete wall is certainly ONE potential response to those issues, but it is HARDLY the only such response, and its construction is thus NOT an "emergency."

The problem with every other "solution" is if someone steps foot on American soil they get to immediately claim asylum.

Sensor, drones, more border agents etc. do not address the first and most important aspect of the problem.

A physical barrier stops the pregnant woman from stepping over the border, spitting out a child and having an anchor baby.
