. New Orleans. While there is much to hate about this damned city, there is just as much to love. Matthew Mcconaughey expressed it well in his "what a big, beautiful mess it is" speech on the city but Tennessee Williams said it better, "“America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland.” If I wanted life to be like shopping at one of those cookie cutter lifestyle shopping centers you see off the interstate with the same stores and the same chain restaurants I would move to Atlanta, Dallas or Houston but I want original and unique even with the crap that comes with it
I can’t believe it took two pages before some loser started referring to famous people who don’t live there(or are dead) to rant and rave about a decaying tourist spot where tourists are being mugged and murdered.

How long do you have to have a home somewhere to have lived there? MM was here much longer than filming and still has a place here he stays often. Tennessee Williams lived at 722 Toulouse Street. I am not saying this city is for everybody and I am certainly not saying there is not a lot of bull#### you have to put up with to live here but New Orleans is one of the most unique and interesting places in the world, not only to visit, but to call home. I have more than a few friends here that are not natives but ended up here through work and chose to stay. Doctors, Ivy-League trained lawyers, and business executives who are talented enough to succeed anywhere but choose to call New Orleans home. As to loser status, maybe so, but I know who I am and where I want to be and you can go f yourself.
