Very much seems like it nowadays.

I can live with the deck boards having a slight curve (front to back) because when laying them flat they will be screwed down anyways, so that doesn't matter too much in this project. But I refuse to buy deck boards that are cut crooked on the sides for this...it will mess up and throw off your square when laying them down.

What is this "square" you refer to? I think I read about it in a construction history book once.
