I don’t want to overreact to just two games, that’s why I doubt you’ll see Beloso lock down first, but there are two things I feel:
1- Hess still isn’t a starter.
2- Hughes still lacks confidence at the plate.
We have more than just two days of data on both of those, so I don’t feel like those are overreactions. They may turn out to be untrue, but that’s how I feel right now.

I still believe in Hess based off of only what Maineiri said about the team USA stuff and what people were saying during scrimmages. I think Marceaux should be the Friday guy but I don’t know if I’m ready to say Hess isn’t a starter yet. Someone was saying he had some sort of injury and it was opening night. I want to have faith that Hess can pull it together and throw his 3rd pitch consistently
