Tournament and the guys scrounging for the BASS tournament next weekend had the Bend filled with go fast boats. Exciting times as thick as the morning fog was, luckily didn’t hear of any incidents. Naturally the weather forecast missed by a mile so we froze our arses off.
Sac’s are in transition, out of deep water but not piled up in the shallows yet. Apparently the 2016 floods ripped up and carried off most of the grass in the lake they would normally stage in, so it’s quite the challenge until the shallows load up. Girlfriend and I pulled out 14, but they were absolutely huge, even the males. The females were bulging with eggs and the eggs sacks were bloody so the time is nigh. In the next couple of weeks, barring more rain dumping, it should be on.
Fished with Living the Dream and couldn’t have been happier. Josh had great gear, from the boat to the ultralight rigs and worked his arse off to make sure we had a good time. I’ve already booked another trip for early summer brushpile hammering. We literally stepped onto the boat and got back in our vehicle at Toledo Town with a gallon bag stuffed with fillets without having to do anything other than chunk and wind. My kind of trip.
