There may actually be something to this. After a particular game show debacle, Congress stepped in and made it so they can’t cheat the contestants and so that everything is honest/fair. I believe that worked because the show made its money off of advertising on their broadcast which was over federally controlled airways. Very similar to how the NFL makes their money.

And the NFL sure hasn’t been shy about including the government in their internal squabbles between the organization and the players. So they’ve already shown they’re willing to allow government intrusion.

I’m not saying it would work or that it would be worth it to go down this road, but it does seem to me like it is a possibility.

Good ole Commerce Clause. I suppose the NFL is an activity of Commerce.
