If it’s getting lean and being healthy that king cake may not be the best option.
The point is, you can be lean and healthy while still enjoying some king cake here and there. Me eating king cake doesn't mean I don't prioritize health and fitness ... it just means I want some king cake here and there.
It's not a zero-sum game.

This. I did strict Keto for 6 months in 2018. I did it just to see what it was about. I enjoyed it greatly and experienced all the benefits everyone talks about. But over time, it got tiring for me. I sort of hit a wall and got tired of putting so much planning and effort into eating. I got off Keto in November, and so far I still feel great and I've focused on eating whole foods, nothing processed, and nothing with added sugars, and I've very aware of the amount of carbs I'm allowing myself to eat.
What I learned and what I apply today is that (absent health issues) eating healthy is about what works for you, and it's about what you eat most of the time rather than what you eat sometimes.
Do I sometimes have pizza? Yes. Do I sometimes have a hambuger? Yes. Did I steal a handful of sour patch kids from my nephew this weeked? Yes lol. But that's a treat and may be one meal a week for me out of 20 others that I am eating whole foods.
