Just about any road side canal/big ditch will work. I know folks do well on Airline headed out of B.R. All along the levee around the Atchafalaya will work also. Many years ago I used to catch some along old Hwy 51(low road off of I-55 between Ponchatoula and Laplace). There are also spots along that hwy he can fish. It's not a terribly busy road so it's pretty safe. When my older kids were younger, I'd take them there pretty frequently.
