Greedy arse mother frickers. Seeing my nephew with tears in his eyes has really made me feel like shite. How can I explain this to him?

Not sure of his age But I told my 11-year-old weeping son that the sun will rise in the East again in the morning and life will go on...You got a comfortable roof over your head food to eat and people that love you...The rest is gravy

I told my 11 year old daughter the same exact thing.

You tell him that it is all about money.
Teach him to follow the money.
Then explain the situation.
Los Angeles is the 2nd largest market for fans and thus money. So far they have not rallied around both LA teams. And although the league can't fix a match like wrestling, they can't influence outcomes during the course of games through various mechanisms.
Bow, tell him their owner forked over 60% of his wealth towards that new stadium. He needs celebs asses in seats and fans rocking that joint. Tell him the owners of the collective esteemed teams have Goodell by the crotch and they will NOT lose on an investment.
Then tell him Raiders will feast by the time they are in Vegas and will, out of nowhere, become an organization to deal with just like LA.
That no call today would get a pee wee ref murdered on the field before returning to his ford 150 if that had happened today.
Tell him to get used to thus because it is spprts in a nutshell--entertainment and money. Nothing more and nothing less.

I’m struggling with this at 25... I’d tell him that money poisons everything.
To look at this once-great showcase of elite competition and see what money has reduced it to.

You're a great dad. I lost my dad in 2009. He did not make it for our Superbowl victory. Your words ring true and that's what your son will remember the most.

While possibly true, I’ll save the Economics lecture for later...also I prefer not to preach victimhood and blame game.

Your nephew will never forget it. I still haven't gotten over Nick Anderson missing those free throws and costing the Magic in the Finals when I was 9.

You’re possibly retarded.

My son is 16 and I explained it basically the same way. Made sense to him and he's going to use it for an economics project, comparing difference in markets as it relates to revenue and such.

Tell him that sometimes unfair things will happen to us in life. We have to win anyway. Never quit. Take care of what you can control, and do not worry about the rest. Never quit. Practice so that you are better than the other team AND poor officiating. Never quit.
This will hurt, but don't let it hurt too long. We have much to do.
It is important to become better and stronger after such events occur. Do your best, give it all you've got, and Never quit.
The Saints will come marching in, again. We need to be ready. Never quit.

You’re absolutely retarded.

It’s no secret the nfl is desperate to crack the LA market. They keep failing and on the verge of failing again. They had to secure LA a spot in the Super bowl Even if the Rams win the super bowl, LA will always be a Lakers town . Nothing will change that.
Posted on 1/21/19 at 1:10 am to LSUBlitzkrieg
Tell him, at 11, he'll almost certainly live long enough to see another Saints Super Bowl. You and I? Not so much...
Posted on 1/21/19 at 1:11 am to sheek
The NFL is working around collective bargaining and free agency by fixing games so small markets don’t make the super bowl. Chiefs fans are pissed tonight too but I didn’t watch much of their game

Please go be retarded somewhere else.
Posted on 1/21/19 at 1:23 am to LSUBlitzkrieg
Why don't you teach him that rules don't matter. He'll surely turnout to be the douch that you've become.
Posted on 1/21/19 at 1:26 am to HuRRiCaNe MiLeS
The problem I have is the official that didn’t make the call was from LA. Another official on the field played for the Rams. How can the NFL allow those two to be on the field?
