First half that I did at Disney enlightened me with how the body adapts to what you are doing. There was a section, probably 8-9 miles in, that you ran under faster runners as they passed over you on an overpass. All the slow pokes, like me, waved to the runners above. When I tried to lift my arms to wave, I, physically, couldn’t. Was the strangest feeling. All of my body’s energy was allocated to my legs going forward, and nothing else.

My first one was the Dark Side Half at WDW in 2016. About mile 8 or 9 is when exhaustion just thumped me in the head. Luckily they gave those energy gel packs. About that time. It hit me about half an hour later. Around mile 11 or so and gave me the boost to finish
