In 2009 the entire area from Claiborne to the River was a madhouse all down Poydras. Even the freaking Jamba Juice on O'Keefe had a line out the door. I went down in the morning a walked around until about noon then headed over to a private party upstairs @ ACME on Bienville. The entire walk was like walking around during mardi gras. However, around 4pm the streets started to empty. When I tell you people got where they needed to be to watch that game it was like a ghost town. I walked out on the balcony during the TV timeout before Hartley's kick and it was so quiet. I'll never forget that. None of the bars in the quarter had their music going. The streets were empty. It was so crazy. Then pandamonium.

I too was at s bar on Bourbon. The tv we were watching was facing Bourbon and there was not a soul on the street, during Hartley’s kick. 5seconds later, like you said, pandemonium.
