One weekend day in the past, teenage me was shooting a new bow and arrow I had received as a gift. ( Had a target too).
I got bored and started to shoot arrows straight up in the air, but not with alot of power to see where they would land.
After 3 or 4 shots pretty close to me I decided to pull the bow back full draw weight.
Couldn't even see where the arrow went until I heard a sound like something striking metal.( Our house had a metal roof.
That was when I had my oh shite moment, the arrow went through our roof. I saw it sticking out. I knew my Dad was going to kill me or at least take away the bow.
Fortunately my room was on the 2nd floor and the door to the attic was in my room. I ran up there, went in the attic and saw the arrow sticking halfway through the roof and the insulation.
I wasn't even thinking about telling anyone, so I pulled it out, went to the garage and got some silicone and a piece of aluminum and patched that sucker up.Covered the patch back up with insulation and never told anyone.
Parents ended up selling the house a couple of years later, I always wondered how long that patch held up.
