In today's football most teams are inside/outside zone teams, and occasionally will mix in a power (down, down, kickout) scheme. The zone takes up more practice time, and with the birth of the H you can use him as your puller and keep a guard in.
The use of that motion man as a blocker (and deception). Everybody focused on the jet sweeps, but being able to put that blocker at point of attack through motion simplified assignments for the OL, often gave both the motion man and OL better blocking angles, made it somewhat easier for OL to get to second level, and could freeze LBs making combo blocks more effective.
And you don't have to run Canada's scheme to do it. That's what baffled me this year. If you are going to get away from power using the FB while still using you inside teams use that motion to give you that power wham.
