I’m looking for lamb shanks to make a lamb stew, but haven’t been able to find any yet. Already been to Costco and a few grocery store. Anyone know a good place to go for some shanks?

I have seen them is Sam's, Whole Foods, and Rouses but not on a continuous basis. Sams nearly always has some cut of lamb though.

I must say making stew out of them is a travesty, roast lamb shanks, roast potatoes, a bit of veg, and yorkies with gravy over the lot are one of my all time favorites.

Lamb stew, I usually do shoulder. I always have to go to halal butchers for that cut. I’d gooogle your local middle eastern groceries. But it’s an easy call to the butcher departments at all the stores (no need to waste your time dropping in each one)

But now that I think on it, I recant. Shanks can be good and in very thick stew, I was at first thinking more like soup.
