There is a reason that Watkinsville has been exploding in size over the past 15 or so years.
People want to live "in Athens" but not in Athens-Clarke County.
Oconee County's public schools are MUCH better.

I was recently home shopping in the area. On the county line, the houses on one side of the street are 150% more expensive per square ft than on the other side.
Not even exaggerating.
