I didn't actually mind the trilogy as a whole. The third book was pretty uneven, but it wasn't that bad. That being said, my ability to slog through a book and just conquer it (especially when it's not like... Henry James or something awful like that) is pretty high.

Anthony Ryan's new Trilogy, Covenant of Steel, is great. I highly recommend. Alwyn Scribe is a great character.
