He’s not wrong that cranes represent development. But he’s wrong in assuming Baton Rouge hasn’t had cranes recently. Several buildings topped off downtown in the past year.
It’s not Chicago or San Francisco, but it’s definitely not Jackson, Shreveport, Beaumont, or Montgomery either.
Like many OT posters, the OP probably too afraid of encountering a black person to have actually gone downtown and noticed.
Adding to that, there’s a shite ton of industrial expansion in south Louisiana that’s driven by cheap natural gas, river access, or state tax breaks.
Also, New Orleans sucks and ULM is the flagship of the University of Louisiana system.
