My house is wired for surround sound without speakers and I’m currently in talks with a company to install an AVR and about 10 in-ceiling speakers throughout the house. I am nowhere near an audiophile and really just want a system to be able to listen to music and watch sporting events.

Should I just forego the wired speakers and invest in a small Sonos system or should I incorporate the wired speakers into a Sonos system? I like the connectivity of Sonos.

Thanks

If you want the connectivity of Sonos I’d figure out how many separate zones of audio you need. Buy a connect and some dumb amps for each of those zones

You are already wired for speakers, get normal speakers. You will need power wherever you put a sonos speaker. Several HT brands have options to have a portable speakers if needed.

Is there anywhere you need to put a speaker that does not have wiring already in place?
