I don't have any emotions about this, other than an innocent man died because someone apparently wandered into his his.
The story about your dad is the complete opposite.
I'm bot sure you have strong emotions for your dad, but imagine a loved one of yours just sitting on the couch watching TV and in comes a neighbor, sees your loved one, and just blasts away.
The complete opposite of that would be if your loved one blasted the neighbor away because of a fear for his life. Totally justified.
