If you like management/sim games, I’m really enjoying this. You build railways between cities and resources and get the cities to grow by resources. But it’s actually pretty deep. You can buy individual businesses and buy your competitors stock.

I never played that but I’m certain some aspects overlap.
There is certainly a lot of character to the game. I genereally don’t employ people though.
If I had to have an issue, it’s that once you get going, making money is too easy while resources are too fickle. You might build a cotton plantation to a small town and the towns people will want nothing to do with it until their town reaches a certain size
